Hello Again!

Hi there!  I've been a little MIA the last while... our kitchen was undergoing a major renovation, and the stuff from the kitchen ended up in my scrap 'room' which made it impossible for me to get crafty.  But, it's all done, I LOVE IT, and now I can sit and scrap again.  

Sadly my term on the PI team finished up at the end of August.  It was so much fun, I'm almost done going through withdrawals... those girls are crazy and amazingly awesome.  Miss them tons. ;)  Check out the blog to see the new team and what they are up to!!

I decided to use a sketch today from Stuck?! Sketches to maybe get my mojo flowing again.  It was a fun design, and used 2 photos which I happened to have sitting on my desk.  I used the Cocoa Vanilla Love Always collection, which is so beautiful and soft.... even for a layout of me and my boy. lol

Smitten Kitten and Fun in the Sun!

It is my turn up on the PI blog today!  I chose 2 of the new Doodlebug Designs lines to work with instead of just one... they are both so much fun I couldn't choose just one of them.

Fancy Pants Product Spotlight

Good morning!!  I played along with the current product spotlight at Paper Issues, focusing on Fancy Pants!  I chose to use the Life is Beautiful collection, and oh what fun that was.  I had fun with some triangles and the soft, gorgeous colors....  My layout was about ME and the fact that I turned 40 a few weeks ago.  For years I was scared of this number, but now I embrace it and am honoured that I was able to see such a milestone as it's one that my sister missed by a few months.  I am PROUD to be 40.

Sketchy Saturday!!

It's time for another Sketchy Saturday at Paper Issues!  Amy Coose came up with another amazing sketch, and I brought out the new Echo Park Summer Party line to play with!

Getting a little Moody!!

Do you love Mary-Ann Coulter Maldonado's mood boards as much as I do??!!  I don't know how she does it every single time, but I love the boards more and more each time she puts together another masterpiece.  So much inspiration to work with!

To me the board wasn't just about transportation.  It was full of days gone by, of old things we remember being a huge beautiful part of our lives.  So, when I started my layout I went with the black and white and a touch of color effect... and used an old picture of my brother and sister and I.  Layouts with her in them are sometimes pretty hard for me to get finished, so this one was no different and I had to eventually call it DONE and move on.

This Simple Stories paper that I chose isn't showing in the store anymore and I don't even remember ordering it... but I'm sure glad I did.  

A little sunshine and a whole lot of happiness!

The product spotlight today at Paper Issues is on the super bright, super sunny, super fun Simple Stories line, Sunshine & Happiness.  Yellow, orange, pink, lime green, it screams summer!!  I have this older picture of a friends little girl, she still has these amazing eyes and beautiful red hair.....

The store is super full of amazing new things.  And the PIFF group is just starting their monthly challenges so come on over and check them out!!  Who wouldn't want a chance to win a PI gc?!

Take 5 Tuesday!!

Good morning!  Another Take 5 Tuesday is up on the Paper Issues Blog, it's one of the favorites around PIFF for sure.... This month I worked with Echo Park's Party Time collection, a super fun line that would work excellent with all of your birthday party pictures, as well as birthday cards for friends and family!!  

I actually used a non birthday photo and chose papers and embellishments that didn't necessarily scream Happy Birthday.  The colors are great, and the designs are awesome!!

I used green, orange, bird, doily and washi from Mary Ann Jenkins list this time around, head on over to find out the rest of the list to choose from to create your layout!!

Pink Paislee Outfitters Spotlight!

The product spotlight for today at Paper Issues, is on the new Pink Paislee line, Outfitters.  I wasn't too sure about this line, because while we DO camp from time to time, we aren't truly a rustic family who hikes and forages for food. 

I actually chose pictures from Disney World to use, from Expedition Everest.  We didn't really go on it.  Just posed in front of it.  That kinda counts, right?  But we DID seriously debate it, as Makenna is a bit more adventurous than my other 2 were when it came to the bigger coasters at Disney.  One day I'll conquer my fear, maybe when it's Braydens turn he'll want to try.

Sunny Days Are Here!

Hello!!  It was my turn up on the Paper Issues Blog today, and I decided to put the spotlight on the Elle's Studios Sunny Days collection that I recently picked up from the PI store.

Fantastic colors, awesome papers... some that you can cut out little bits and pieces from to make your own little embellishments.  Definately something to pick up if you have lots of beachy type photos to scrapbook!!  Remember to use the code 'Chelsea' for 20% off of your PI purchase!!

Sketch it Up!

Amy has done up a new sketch for Paper Issues for July!  It's awesome, featuring a big ass star.  I love stars.  So many options for this one, cut out a star, matte a few stars together, stitch it out, use a cut file... the possibilities are endless!!

I tend to start with a sketch and if I work too hard at it, it ends up looking NOTHING like the sketch.  That's where I was starting to go with this one but decided to stop and post. haha!
I couldn't get the start looking right, so I opted for a large circle as my background, but made sure I used the paper with stars on it. :)

You can find the papers I worked with HERE in the PI store, they are from Webster's Pages Make a Wish line.  I also used a few of the cards from one of the Project Life foil packages, however I can't see that particular pack in the store anymore.

Pinspire me at Paper Issues

Mary-Ann has come up with yet another breathtaking mood board for the month of July at Paper Issues, take a peek at what some of the DT created with it!  Pinks and yellows and oranges, soft summer drinks, cool flip flops... ack, I can't stand it!

I created this layout mainly based on the color palette, along with the yummy tasty treats. :)  The Dole Whip is BY FAR one of my favorite treats at Disney!!!

POP your page!

Have you seen the paperPOPS in the PI Store?  They are super cute, made by Parker on the Porch for the PI store.  Some come with planner clips included, which can be taken out to use on their own on layouts, cards, etc.  I used a pop with a clip for a layout but left the clip on to attach it to my photo!

I'm proud to be Canadian, but this line was kinda cute and I have a LOT of American friends :)

New Issue with Paper Issues - Gleam Catchers!

Happy Monday Everyone!

We're celebrating a new issue over at Paper Issues, Lisa kicked it off on the blog this morning, 

it's called Gleam Catchers!!  This really got me excited because I'm a lover of all things gold, and stars, and well... pretty much anything she asked us to use for the challenge.

You can find the other girls inspiration on the blog at the link above, and you can upload your own masterpiece into the July Challenge Album over at PIFF!

I cut out some stars from some gold confetti vellum, and then spray painted some smaller cork stars with gold spraypaint as well.  Didn't stop there, as I sprinkled some gold paint alongside them too!

I used a Heidi Swapp glitter word sticker, originally it was all one piece to say 'photobomb' but I cut it apart to make a little bit different of a title.

Something a little Knot-ical This Way Comes!

I didn't jump fast enough to get on the new issue train for June, so I decided to do up a layout and make it into my blog post for this month.  I found my October Afternoon Treasure Map papers, or at least the bits and pieces that I had left... I loved this line... and worked on this little piece.  Adding some glittery stars around the universe was the final touch.

Sketchy Saturday with some Little You!

Happy Saturday everyone!  I love working with the sketches from Amy Coose at Paper Issues!  This is the fun sketch that was created for us to play around with....

And here is my take on it using the very cute Little Girl line from Crate Paper Little You.  Equally cute is the Little Boy line.  I used a Simple Stories woodgrain full size paper for my background and I just love the warmth it gave the layout, especially for the pictures I chose to use.

We don't own a dog, we aren't a dog family... but our friend's dog had a litter and he kept one of them and brought him over for a little playdate, the kids loved it!

Tell me you don't LOVE this mood board that Mary-Ann created for inspiration over at PIFF.  It just screams summer, fun, relaxation..... love the colors!!! 

 It was PERFECT for the Beach Day line from Carta Bella!!  The sun, the colors, it all matched up so well.  I love the chevron paper the best, of course.  As always.
