Happy Sunday everyone! I'm here with another little altered home decor piece! I’ve been on a kick the last little while with re-decorating some of my old frames and different things around my house. I love making old things new again…. and sometimes all it takes to make an older item work in a redecorated space, is to redecorate it as well!
This Family frame was hanging on my one wall for quite some time with pictures of the 3 kids in it. For some reason, it got taken down and I didn’t know how to use it again…

I finally sat down and just played around with it using some of my Simple Stories Fabulous papers. Their die cuts were perfect sizes for the frames, and the sticker accents were a great addition as well. I threw on some older Maya Road velvet ribbon, a few flowers and buttons…. and called it done!

Now instead of featuring pictures of the kids, it is a cute little decoration to hang up in any room of the house!
Frames don’t always have to be for pictures…. so play around with them sometime if you have a few older ones just laying around that you don’t know what to do with!

Echo Park Chipboard Album!!

Welcome to another Scrappy Sunday!! I was thrilled to open my box from Lori last week, and find my new Echo Park mini albums inside!! These albums are SO cute, they are only 3 heavy duty pages, but they each have a slideout on them that allow you to double up how many pictures you put in the whole album!! Very cool....  Please click on the pictures to view in larger size!

I decided to use mine to make a wedding gift for my friends, I had the honor of helping to photograph her wedding recently.  Beautiful bride, makes beautiful pictures.  And the colors in this Echo Park Eclectic paper pack were PERFECT for her wedding colors!!!

I kept the front title page simple but elegant....

The 'tops' of the pages I have left room for her to add a few pictures of her own choosing once she gets some printed off......

But here is the fun part!!  I did put pictures in all of the slideouts!!!

They are perfectly sized for 4x6 photos.  And at first I wondered if the pictures would get caught or scratched pulling the sliders in and out, but so far they have been just fine....

And if you have a picture that isn't quite 4x6 in size, just matte it on some paper, but make sure the paper isn't too heavy or thick!

I really do love how these papers go with the bridesmaid dresses.... pulls it all together nicely!

I didn't go hog wild with the embellishments and extra things that would distract from the pictures.  This isn't for me, it's for the bride and groom to keep, so I wanted to keep it as simple as possible, but still have things on each page to accentuate the pictures and make it pretty to look at.  I hope that she has fun choosing a few more pictures to add onto each page, and can't wait to see it after she finishes it off!!  But most of all, I hope that they both live... HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!!!

Pillow Box Dressup!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful long weekend!
I spent it out at our campsite with my kiddos and my man, and my mom and stepdad, sister, niece and nephew... celebrating my birthday!

I just wanted to quickly share a little something I threw together using a cute little black pillow box from the LIITD store.  Dressing them up is one of my favorite things to do when giving a gift card, gift certificate, or money!  Definately prettier than just throwing it inside of a card....

I'm back to work at the bank.... first day back was today, after over 2 years of being away for maternity leave and a year away for Brayden's medical issues!!  It was a good day, I think I will like it just fine there once again...... :)

A Dream Come True

This past weekend, I did something that I have been dreaming of doing for awhile now.  I was asked by a friend of mine, to be her second shooter at another friends wedding.  I am a novice, a newbie, I'm a MWAC.  I'm so grateful that I was given the opportunity to try something new that I love to do.

The wedding was beautiful, as were the bride and groom.  I had so much fun, and I am certain that this won't be the last......

So I found an old accordian album that I had done in October, 2007. Obviously, my kids have grown a lot since then, plus I had another one. LOL! I looked at it for awhile, and then decided that I would flip it over and make a new one on the opposite side! I could keep the old, but add the new!

This was the 'old side'...

And here is what I did with the 'new side'....

I used Echo Park's 'This & That Charming' line for this project, one of my favorites in the last few months, because of the greens and browns, which are always some of my favorite colors to use. It is a line that is mainly geared towards boys, however I made it work for both my boys AND my girls!

Something old can be new again, without ripping it apart and getting rid of what you have done in the past. Now I have 2 sides that I can put on display up in my entrance.

I caved in to the chevron!!!

I will be the first to admit, trends in scrapbooking are very cool to look at, but I don't always try them right away.  I don't like trying them just because everyone else is doing it....  I like to try them when I feel like my layout is calling for it.

This layout called for it.

THE CHEVRON

Obviously, I love the look of the chevron, as my blog is decorated with it.... but I had yet to use it on a layout!

I loved these pictures of my boy.  He found this helmet fascinating, and wore it around the house for a day or two.  I kinda wish he would wear it 24/7, as he is one accident prone child.  I think it stems from his no fear attitude. LOL!

Once again putting EP's This & That Charming to work!

I also played around with a fun sketch from Sketchabilities that was great to get some mojo flowing this morning!  I used Simple Stories 'Fabulous' for this one!

TFL and have a great weekend!!

Some other people's children....

..... make some beautiful scrapbook pages, and sometimes make me feel like I'm starting something fresh and new.  Sound strange?  Probably...  haha!

I recently took some pictures while out on a boat ride with friends of ours... they have 3 beautiful children, and I was so happy to get some great shots of them.  I finished 2 layouts of the girls, and hopefully will get to do one of their boy shortly.

First we have Makenzie, one of the most content babies I have ever known. She rarely cries, you hardly know she is around, a dream baby to have when you have 3 kids age 4 and under.

(Simple Stories Fabulous Collection)

Tekoa is the older daughter, and such a pretty girl.  Full of questions, full of spunk.... I just love her energy!!!

(Echo Park This & That Graceful Collection)

I hope everyone is having an amazing summer, visiting with family and friends, enjoying your children whether it's in the yard or at a beach.  We have had some pretty beautiful weather, lots of sun and heat... which has meant a ton of beach time!!!
