I issued the first challenge for February at Love is in the Details yesterday, and thought I would post it here as well! We do our challenges just for fun, which is what scrapbooking SHOULD be all about.... to inspire you and help your mojo to come out and play!

Whoa it's cold out there! The last few days, it's hit down to -47 degrees with the windchill..... crazy considering just 2 weeks ago, it was almost to the melting point! So I decided NO winter layouts this week... I wanted to do something fun and summery and warm. LOL!

I brought out some LYB Fresh Print Clothesline, such fun and bright colors... perfect for summer pics!! Mixed in some OA ribbon and little flyers from the Sidewalks line as well...... and a couple of other odds and ends ;)

Ok, now normally... a line like this might seem too out of the norm for me. But, something about it called to me. No, it SCREAMED to me. Take me, use me, distress me and create with me!!!!

So I did.

My oldest daughter, Tayla, bought me this very cute white, plain frame for Christmas. I knew immediately what I wanted to do with it, because I didn't want to put 8 pictures in it, even though that is what it was made for.

I took 4 of the slots for pictures, and with the other 4, I did them all up fancy like with papers and embellies and alphas.... and, well, I am totally in love with this frame.

Everything on this frame is from October Afternoons 'Farmhouse' line, aside from Jillibean Soup Corrugated Alphas, some Stampin' Up mini clothespins, and some extra OA mini alphas.

You are going to want the WHOLE ENTIRE LINE. If you have to pick and choose, however, I highly recommend the 'Little Flyers', the 'Flower Sack', and the 'Wrap Pack'. And of course 2 sheets of each paper. LOL!!

Challenge Day

The LIITD Creative Team is THRILLED to be back issuing challenges to our members. We took a little break while life was so busy for everyone, and are ready to dive in again. :)

Last week, Norine issued a challenge to use white on white, and her layout is gorgeous... check the challenge out HERE.

Is school back in yet?

I WISH! LOL! I love my kiddos, and they have been pretty good the last week and a half, the weather has been beautiful for where we live so they have been outside a lot.... I'm just ready to get back to routine. They don't sleep in, so it's a lonnnnng day.... ;)

While Brayden napped today, I thought I'd squeeze in a layout, and once again chose the Sketchy Thursday challenge.... and came up with this layout of my little monkey. He is such a serious looking boy at times, but then BAZINGA, he lights up and does something completely opposite. He makes us laugh... :)

Happy New Year!!!!!

I hope that you all had a fabulous New Years Eve, ringing in 2012 in every way possible.... but most of all, safely!! Me and my man had a great night out with friends, dancing and drinking, and a nice quick walk home in beautiful weather :)

I did a bit of decorating the past few days.... not around the house, but at the scrap table. LIITD has the cutest cupcake boxes in the store. SINGLES or ONE DOZEN are available. I got a few of the singles, and thought I would dress up the boxes a little bit. The singles are perfect to also use as little gift boxes for that present you just don't know how to wrap! I love making pretty cupcakes, so I will definately be making use out of both of the sizes to take to my friends and family!! LIITD always has the cutest, different things in the store!!

Me time = Scrappy time!!

I used a sketch from Little Yellow Bicycle on their FB page that they have used for a fall/winter collection contest, and submitted a layout.... I kinda love how it turned out :) Doesn't necessarily have to be a winter layout to use winter papers, people!

I also did one of my and my 2 boys using Echo Park's Holly Jolly line, still one of my faves of the last few months..... and once again, not a Christmas themed page, but it all worked together nonetheless. :)

I hope you are all enjoying the season, and gearing up for New Years Eve tomorrow night!! We're headed out on the town for some dancing and visiting with a bar full of people! LOL! Happy New Year, I'll be back on January 1st for my NEW YEAR of posting and sharing!!!

Almost to 2012

So I am working on a layout... actually it's already finished, but I can't post it yet. ;) I can tell you what it is about, though. It's about ME. It's about making ME a priority in 2012. 2011 was such a roller coaster of a year, and I let myself take a backseat to everything else. When I'm stressed, I eat. When I'm sad, I eat. When I'm angry, I eat. You can see where this is going, right? Yup, it went right to my hips, my belly, my ass.... I am soooo not happy with how I have let myself go downhill the last year.

I vow to eat better, to keep going strong with the very little diet pepsi and hopefully eventually NONE at all.... I vow to exercise once per day, even if it's just doing the Just Dance 3 on the Wii that we got for Christmas (that is quite the workout, you know!!!).... I vow to make ME a priority, because if I don't, I won't have the energy to play with the kids, and I won't have the health to be around for them for a long time.

It's time... it's gotten out of hand, I miss the old me... but I'm bringing her back. One year from today I will be at my goal weight. I promise. Bring it.

Christmas Traditions

This year was going to be a year without a few of our traditions... and I kept telling myself that it was fine, because things change and that is a part of life. But, I kept thinking about not having Santa on Christmas Eve, and not seeing my uncle and aunt and their kids at all on Christmas Eve.... and I got sad.

Our Amma has been Santa on Christmas Eve for as long as I can remember.... but it is getting to be too much for her, too stressful finding extra gifts for everyone and to remember who she has for and who she doesn't.

We found a solution, though.... we told her that she should just use her actual Christmas gifts to give to everyone, instead of finding extras. Christmas morning there are SO many gifts under the tree, and nobody will notice one less, and this way Amma can watch everyone open her gifts without the bigger shmozzle of Christmas morning. Because believe me, Christmas morning in our family is a chaos of wrapping paper and ribbon drowning us in the livingroom.

So Santa WILL be coming this year on Christmas Eve, and I know my kids will be thrilled... as will I. :) It's the little things.

My aunt and uncle are also going to come over for a part of the evening after all, and that makes me happy too :) We always have such a great time eating and drinking and playing games... we have done it for many many years, and I wasn't ready to see that change.

So Christmas Eve we will be sliding in the afternoon with a bonfire weenie roast right on the hill... then back to my mom and stepdads for appetizers as supper, drinky poos, Santa, and some games... and of course tons of laughs and chatting.

Darcy, Brayden, Jackson and myself will be coming back to our house to sleep, while the girls have asked to sleep at Grandma's with my sister and her 2 kids, and my brother. We all stayed last year and while I love doing that, it's just not as easy this year with Brayden... I don't want him waking anyone up, and I don't think he'll go to sleep and stay asleep with 14 other people around. This way hopefully he'll get a good sleep and be in a great mood in the morning. Makenna and Tayla will phone us the second they wake up and we will race on over there and do presents, cinnamon buns, baileys and coffee and more presents. Then over to my dads for brunch and his gifts. Perhaps a little rest, then back to my moms for supper, and my dad usually joins us too.

Ahhh Christmas. Crazy busy, sometimes stressful, but always fun and memorable. I hope that my kids grow up to enjoy our holidays and keep some of our traditions alive. :)

I have missed playing around with one of my fave sketch sites... Sketchy Thursdays... I was doing them on a regular basis, but then life got way too busy and I had to sit some out. I went back yesterday to check out the latest sketch and knew I had to get busy! :) I just happened to take the perfect pictures for it this weekend too!!

I know, I know... 2 posts in one day. Don't worry, this is a rare occurence ;)

Less than a week to go!!

Monday Monday... I know a LOT of people hate Mondays. I am not one of them. And I'm not shy to admit it. When I was working, I detested Mondays, but now that I am at home full time, after a weekend of NOISE and non stop action with 4 kids, I LOVE Mondays.

The fact that they only have 4 days of school left before having 2+ weeks off, makes today especially awesome. :)

So on the blog at LIITD today, Lori has posted what I have been working on during the weekend.... some altered blocks that I was given by my sister for my birthday in August. I used the Little Yellow Bicycle Twig line, some of their embellies as well, and also added a few of my own stickles and bling, etc. to make them sparkle and shine. :)

One Week Left!!!!

I honestly can't believe it's Christmas one week from today.... in one week we will be knee deep in shredded wrapping paper and tossed aside bows. All of the hard work of wrapping will be ignored by the little creatures that find joy in tearing apart works of art.... Are you ready? I am :)

I had the kids outside in the snow yesterday... all of the kids. Why is this so special you might wonder? People have their kids out in the snow all of the time... what's the big deal?

#1. December in Snow Lake, Manitoba is generally kicking anywhere from around -20 to -40 degrees Celcius. Lately it has been an average of -10, and who doesn't want to take advantage of that?!?!

#2. Doing laundry for 6 people generally takes up a good portion of my weekends. This weekend, I got it all done on Friday so that I could boycott the washer the rest of the weekend and have some fun with the kids.

#3. Brayden hasn't been 'allowed' to play outside in the winter yet. Last winter he was too young, not walking, and very sick for almost 6 weeks through Christmas time before we finally got to the bottom of things. This winter his immune system isn't yet back up to par after his heart surgery, so he has been sick pretty much every 2nd week since September. Well, right now he is HEALTHY... Ok, so a slight runny nose but otherwise he's good to go, and it has been almost 6 months exactly from his surgery so his immune system is almost back to 'normal'. He has energy, and he loves burning that energy. I bundled him up in his snowsuit, and we all took off outside to play on the huge snow hill on our street. The joy in his eyes was amazing, he loves the snow and loves the cool air. It was a GOOD day.

I even managed to get a picture of my beautiful kiddos up on top of the snow hill. They ALL looked at me. At the same time. I know, it's a miracle... a Christmas miracle....

Aren't they just amazing? :) Tayla is 13 in March, Jackson turned 9 in November, Makenna turned 6 in November, and Brayden will be hitting the big 2 in April. I'm a proud mom, and truly blessed and extremely grateful for what I have.....

Sorry, no scrappy goodness to show you today, I just wanted to show off my kids :) LOL!!! I'll be back soon with some crafty stuff. ;)

I was whipped so hard I have whiplash to get this blog updated... Internet Explorer wouldn't let me on, so I downloaded Google Chrome and it logged me in first try! YAY!!

So, almost 2 months has passed since I last blogged... what's been going on? Hmmm getting ready for Christmas, which includes shopping and baking and wrapping and hiding stuff and lying to my kids.... what about you? LOL!

I've gotten a little bit creative as well, you can find anything that I do for LIITD on the site's blog, which Lori has been updating DAILY for the month of December with some amazing Christmas ideas and some stories as well. I love her posts, especially in December... please hop on over and check them out, I promise you won't be disappointed. :)

We have welcomed Norine onto the LITTD Creative Team as well! Super excited, I have always loved Norine's style and the amazing creations she has shown us over time. Nola has also taken a bigger part on the CT, and I am just thrilled to be around such great gals. :)

How was YOUR weekend?

I drove down 8 hours to a weekend crop put on by Love is in the Details.... Lori and her crew were amazing as always. The food, the ambience of a Christmas in Miami... the friends, the store. Gosh, I could go on and on. It's my 3rd weekend crop in Miami, and it won't be my last. It's a long drive, I get exhausted, it's expensive to travel... but it is SO worth it to me. :)

I even managed to get 12 layouts, 1 card, and one altered mini notebook completed. I was so happy!! Some of them were super simple, but I was happy with each and every one of them. I think this one was my favorite... used a few new things I picked up at the store there ;)

Ok, so let me set the stage.... Thursday morning, Darcy took my youngest son Brayden, to see his mom and dad. 9 hours away. I am having a hard time with it, I have never been away from him for more than one night and that was barely a 12 hour time span. This time he is gone for 3 whole nights! That is FOUR DAYS! Ack! On the positive side, I cleaned house SO hard yesterday that I decided to dedicate today to ME. Which means scrapbooking.... ALL DAY LONG. Pretty awesome.... I don't have to jump up to get little monkey anything, get him OUT of anything, wipe his boogery nose, change his dirty diapers.... it's kinda nice. But I still miss him to the moon and back. :(

So anyhoo. I decided to actually get a sketch done first thing this morning... instead of leaving it until Wednesday morning like I have been doing lately. LOL! The sketch can be found here at Sketchy Thursdays so check it out and play along!! This is what I managed to come up with... pics of my oldest daughter, who will be *gulp* 13 in March. How? I have no idea. LOL!

I also did another sketch for a contest at Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine...

I Heart Wednesdays!

What I don't like about today is the new changes to Facebook. Yes, I'm unable to accept change. I am stubborn and set in my ways. LOL! I'll get used to it, I'm sure, just not today. Or tomorrow. Call me next month and we'll talk about it.

I worked on this weeks sketch from Sketchy Thursdays, and love how it turned out. I don't have any pictures of my friends and I.... when my friends and I get together, it's over coffee. We're all busy moms, and we don't have time to jet away out of town for spa days, or head out to the movies or a play. We sit down with our kids playing in the background, pull out the coffee, and chat. I love it. It's my time.... to talk to other moms and grownups. I smile, I laugh, sometimes we cry. Just being together is awesome.

I hope you all find some time to get together with your friends to do something that makes you smile!! It will do wonders for your sanity, I swear. :)

Yes... I am one of those crazy people who LOVE Mondays. Why? Because it is the start of a somewhat quiet week for me, something I have grown to really love and be thankful for. :)

The man is working nightshift tonight, so I decided to sit down and create. So many other things I should be doing, but I just felt the NEED to scrap. Everything else will still be there tomorrow, right? ;)

Taking the weekly sketch from Sketchy Thursdays, I created this layout using a few pictures from Braydens surgery. We haven't made many pictures of him after surgery public, they are mostly for just us.... but I thought I'd use some of them on some layouts....

Brayden surely has given us the gift of love... pure, sweet, innocent, unconditional love.

Ok, I'm not in school.

But my kids are.

Yup, I am thrilled that my kids are back in school and I have more time for some very important things in my life.... like SCRAPPING!! :)

I managed to get 2 more layouts done since yesterday.....

Are your kids happy to be back at school? Do you find yourself lost without them making constant noises and messes around the house? I admit it's sad seeing them walk away every morning, and it's sad hearing Brayden cry as they are leaving.... but still, I enjoy my days with just Brayden right now...

I love taking part in the weekly sketches at Sketchy Thursdays, but this week I fell behind and didn't think I'd be able to get it done... Luckily, my kids went back to school today and I was able to sit at the scrap table for a little while this afternoon! :)

Here is my layout based on the 9.1 sketch, pretty simple and straightforward, sometimes that is the way to go!!

Some moments are special...

.... simply because they exist.

Such a simple phrase, but holds a whole bunch of emotion for me. Braydens surgery has given him a new lease on life, he is a completely different boy (but still very much the same if that makes any sense).... and his energy and enthusiasm for life and for learning new things on a daily basis astounds me. A few short months ago, he was using every single ounce of energy he had just to live.... and now he can use that energy to eat like a pig, run around like superman, and oh boy... is he ever giving me a run for my money. I love it. I love him.

I am grateful to the doctors who finally listened to me and diagnosed his Congenital Heart Disease and his Congenital Heart Failure, I am grateful to the amazing surgeon in Edmonton who fixed his aorta and against the odds managed to save his valve and give him better odds for future surgeries. I am grateful to have my sweet little monkey happy and 'well'. Yes, we've had a few glitches in recovery, but they are truly minor. I know we are extremely lucky that it was not anything more serious than it was. My heart goes out to all of those whose children don't have the positive outcome that we had, and who spend a majority of their lives in and out of hospitals and surgeries. Your little heart warriors are always on my mind.....

So yes, this layout..... is about enjoying the moments in life that sometimes get taken for granted. A fun day of swimming in a pool with Daddy, something so small... yet something so big....

Felt a little scrappy tonight!

Life has been pretty busy the last few weeks! Unfortunately our whole basement flooded, forcing us to rip about 70% of it out right to the cement foundation. :( This was SO not what we needed right now (or ever) with everything that we've been dealing with this year. BUT, things could still be worse and I tell myself that every single day. We have been sleeping out in the camper for the last 3+ weeks (me, my boyfriend, and 2 of the kids) because we lost the use of our bedrooms as they were in the basement. Let me tell you one thing... I love camping, but I am SO sick of sleeping in my camper. LOL!!! A few more weeks and we SHOULD be back into the house. I can't wait.

So scrapping hasn't been happening... until tonight. I thought I'd take advantage of having a few of the kids in bed early and the man at work, and see what I could do! I went to one of my favorite scrappy challenge sites, Sketchy Thursdays and checked out their weekly sketch, got some ideas, and went to work!

This is my finished layout, a few pics of my boy from Legoland last fall in California.... I laughed so hard every time I went to take a picture of him. My normally shy and quiet guy who really disliked having his picture taken, started posing for each and every picture I took! He fit the pose to what the situation was, and it was hysterical. LOL!! These were just 3 of probably 100 pictures of him posing... :)

Colors are a bit off, as it's night time and I don't want to wait until the morning to snap an outdoor pic... ;)

Having some summer fun?

We were able to get out to the campground for 3 days this past week, and had so much fun... The first 2 days were unbearably hot but we survived... the 3rd day was dreary and cool, but was very much welcomed by me, I'm most comfortable in jeans and a sweatshirt. LOL! Tons of pictures were taken, so I'd say the trip was a success ;) I got some great ones of Brayden trying out the water, he wasn't all that pleased with it for the most part, but I think he was grateful for the cool down!

Sketchy Thursdays has a neat sketch this week, I'm always trying to get out of my comfort zone regarding using more than one picture on a layout so this was PERFECT.

I'm hoping to get some more time at the scrap table this weekend, and maybe reorganize my space a bit.... Have a great weekend, everyone!

I have been! It's been so great to sit back at the table and get some layouts done. Been working on some challenges from the LIITD members online crop, there are so many to choose from!

We're headed out to the lake to camp for a few nights, so I guess no scrapping will get done in the next week.... hopefully next weekend! :)

Scrappy Therapy!

I am so thrilled to report that my little guy's first open heart surgery went AMAZINGLY well, he is such a trooper... slowly getting back to his usual self but with more energy and a healthier appetite than ever before!! It is amazing what surgeons can do these days, his doctor performed a small miracle and saved a valve that they thought was kaput. He still might need it replaced eventually, but not right now which is a very very good thing. :)

But onto scrapping! I decided since Brayden and his Daddy took off to his brothers out of town and my other 3 kids are pretty self sufficient, I would sit at the table and see what I could accomplish. Sketchy Thursdays is always a great inspiration to me lately, so I thought I'd see what this weeks sketch was like! No printer ink, so I dove into the Disneyland pics that still need a home in my scrapbooks and found these 2 pictures of the divine creations they made on a daily basis. Almost too good looking to eat!!

Ooooh and I am soooo excited that for my birthday this year, my man bought me a Canon Rebel T3!!!! I'm slowly figuring it out, it'll take me awhile though... so right now it's a lot of automatic shots, no manual stuff just yet. In time, in time... ;)

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Mine will continue to be a scrappy one.. even though it's so damp and muggy that my papers are all curling up at the edges as I work on a page... LOL!

I think my scrapping days are on hold for awhile.... as much as I hate to do it. :(

Brayden has been scheduled for his first heart surgery on June 27th... after a few months of waiting and pushing and waiting some more, we were given this date just this past Friday! Talk about moving quick once they finally got it going.

So now I have 8 sleeps to get everything ready for us, for Brayden, and for the other 3 kids to be at my moms for who knows how long.... 8 sleeps isn't a lot of time. LOL!! We'll be leaving Snow Lake on the 22nd, flying to Edmonton on the 23rd, pre-op and another test on the 24th, take the weekend to ourselves maybe walk around the mall ;) and then surgery on Monday the 27th. If you want to skip on over to the other blog I have just for him, please feel free... it will be updated as we go through this surgery and recovery!

I decided that since I missed the BIG Spring Crop at Love is in the Details in Miami, MB this long weekend, I would take a few hours today and sit at the scrap table, something I have not found much time for the last few months... I'm glad I did, it always reminds me how much I LOVE it...

This layout I whipped up using the weekly sketch at Sketchy Thursdays and I love how it turned out! Used some of my 'new' Basic Grey Aged&Confused 'Phresh&Phunky' paper!

SNOW?!?!

Yup it is SNOWING out. And not just snowing, but I can barely see down the street it's coming down so bad right now. Unbelievable. Actually, this is the norm for around these parts. I had Brayden on April 29th of 2010 and I remember it snowed while I was in the hospital..... We've also had snow in May.... but hopefully this is the last storm of this winter!

So I have started a new blog for our updates with Brayden.... not sure but I think you can find it linked to my username with this blog? Anyhoo, I won't be updating about him on here, I'll leave it all for that blog... and just keep using this one for crafty stuff and other fun stuff I might feel like sharing...

This layout I completed the other day when I was in need of some 'scrap therapy'. I opened up some of the new Echo Park 'For The Record' collection! Not sure how often I'll get new ones posted, but I will definately post when I can. :)

Welcome to another 'Chelsea's Picks' reveal for the month of April!! I decided to go with My Mind's Eye's 'Good Day Sunshine - Boy' paper pack. I was worried one small paper pack wouldn't be enough, I'm not used to having only one sheet each of any double sided paper... but it was perfect! The colors are perfect for those 'cool dude' layouts of your little boy, but work just fine for some girly layouts too!! But if you prefer, Lori also has the Girl collection in the store ;)

Here are my layouts and cards that I created using all of this yummy stuff!!

And now, here comes the very hard part... :(

I am very sad to say that I have accepted a leave of absence from the Creative Team here at LIITD, and this will be my last monthly reveal for awhile. Lori and Paul are so understanding and generous, and they have asked me if I would like a break until the New Year.

For those of you that only frequent the blog and not the forum to know my reasons, I will keep it brief. My youngest son, Brayden, was diagnosed with 2 congenital heart defects and congestive heart failure about 2 weeks ago, after fighting for months with the doctor to get him tested. He is turning a year old at the end of April, and otherwise is a very happy and amazing guy that just fills our house with nothing but sunshine. The next year will be full of ups and downs, surgery, doctors appointments, and a lot of travelling, as we live 7 hours away from Winnipeg where all of his testing needs to be done.

My family means the world to me, and they have to be my #1 priority in my life in every single way. Those extra moments I have on any given day need to be used to spend quality time with the older kids that are going to be feeling the effects of us being gone a lot, and just to let them know that I am here for them.

LIITD is my home away from home, I love everyone there.... and this has been a very very difficult decision to make. I will still be around, but without the commitments of the Creative Team. :) I hope that when this is all behind us, I can rejoin my special little 'family' and we can pick up where we are leaving off.

Thank you to everyone for your support and encouragement, it means so much to me!!!

To Lori, Lisa & Amber.... thanks for everything, ladies.... you guys are wonderful and I am not even going to try and put into words how I feel about ya!!!!!

Little Brayden Update

So we went down to Winnipeg last Sunday, and had Braydens cardiologist appointment on Monday.... the tests were fast and we didn't have to wait long for the doctor, so we figured it was good news. It was not good news. We were kind of blown out of the water.

Brayden was diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease and Congestive Heart Failure. He has 2 defects, one in his aorta and one in his mitral valve. This has also affected his lungs and has caused his heart to enlarge. We are now waiting on a call from Winnipeg to head back down for a CT scan to confirm the aortal defect and once that is finished, they will book the first surgery in Edmonton or Vancouver, probably Edmonton. There will probably be at least one more surgery to follow, if not more.

We are overwhelmed, in shock, and just sad that we didn't get better results. I had prepared myself for the possibility of surgery but this was even worse than I had prepared myself for. However, we have amazing support from all of our family and friends, and Brayden is a trooper and I know that in the end, he will get better and we will all be ok. His health and well being is being FIRST in all of our decisions from here on out.

Please send all of your prayers and love to this little peanut as we embark on a very scary and unknown journey..... thank you everyone!!!!!

Oh how I love Sundays..... because every Sunday at Love is in the Details, a different Creative Team member has their own special reveal. Even though we aren't working with 'kits' exactly, we are still working with what we call 'our picks' each month. Sometimes it's brand new stuff, sometimes it's older product that we want to bring out and show what it can do....

For the month of March, I chose October Afternoon's Schoolhouse line.... and in the end, only one layout was really using a 'school' picture. LOL! The colors were fantastic, I absolutely adored working with them for both boy AND girl layouts. Here is what I managed to create with this awesome line.....

It's so hard to believe that my little Makenna has started Kindergarten... and she is loving it...

Jackson tried SOOOO very hard to pull the sword from the stone at Disneyland!

My oldest daughter, Tayla, is an amazing big sister to Brayden.... she is a little mother, and adores looking after him and playing with him!!

This is another friends little girl named Calyn, she is so adorable.... I am loving doing a few layouts of her now and then....

Stuck on the couch

Happy Friday everyone! I am chillaxin on my couch this afternoon, after my mom kidnapped the 2 kids that are home in the afternoons.... I am not feeling well at all, so I can't even take this time to scrap. :( But thank goodness for laptops, I can at least surf the net!!

I have a 'recipe challenge' up at LIITD for the month of March, if you want to take part just hop on over HERE and take a stab at it! The picture is from when I took my Tayla to her very first concert, Justin Bieber of course! LOL! She had a blast, it was a fantastic trip with her and my niece, me and Brayden.... very quick but the look on their faces during the show was well worth the 14 hour round trip drive!!

Amber also has a sketch challenge, and Lisa will be posting another new one tomorrow! Always something to check out!!

Lori is starting to list some new items on the shopping page so you might want to check it out early and often, as things seem to fly right out of my cart if I'm not quick enough! LOL!!

Scrapping on a Saturday, that is! I have had a bit of 'quiet time', as quiet as it gets in this house, anyways... and decided to sit and scrap. Housework will wait ;) I can't show you everything I'm working on, as some of it is top secret for another week or so.... but there is one that I did do that I can post!

I finally ordered ALL of my Disneyland pictures from October... almost 500 of them. I don't know what I'm going to do with them all, I know they won't all get scrapped, but I couldn't pick and choose so I just hit 'select all'. LOL!!

Anyways, this pictures if from that huge pile... and while it doesn't show Disney at all, it is from there, and a picture is worth a thousand words. Jackson shone at Disney, he opened up and was like a completely different boy. Having his momma to himself (along with his baby bro) was something he doesn't get a whole lot of, and he made the most of it. I loved his excitement, his hugs, his kisses, and hearing 'I love you' every hour. LOL!!

I hope he never forgets our trip together, the magical moments, we made some amazing memories. I wish we could go back... we're lucky that my mom is taking each of the grandkids when they turn 8.... because it's not something I'm able to do for them right now.....

Are Fridays a GOOD day for you? For me, it means breakfast out with my boyfriend and our little Brayden... Darcy is off on Fridays, the rest of the kids are in school... so we've started taking that time as our little date. Even with Brayden, we love it. LOL!

This weekend we're not doing a heck of a lot! We curl Fridays, so that's on for tonight, but after that it's alllll open. I think some scrapbooking is in order, don't you? I have a few things I need to work on for the next week or two, and some other things I want to try just for fun!!

So I'm not TOTALLY jumping up and down in the air.... because usually by noon on a Saturday I'm wishing school was on due to the excessive noise and energy in the house. LOL!!

But, it IS the long weekend, Louis Riel Day (family day) is on Monday so the kids are off. I'm off too, but I always am (for now).....

What has everyone been up to? I've been busy with the kiddos, with the house, with some scrappin' ;) We had an online crop at Love is in the Details this past week and it ends tomorrow night at 9pm CST. Take a peek at the challenges if you are feeling crafty today and tomorrow, sign up and post them and you can win some fabulous prizes! We are always welcoming newbies to the forum, we've had some really great girls sign up in the last little while and it's so awesome to see!!

I did 2 challenges for the crop, along with a fun jellybean guess.... one was a color challenge with the colors red/white/pink (it WAS a LOVE theme crop, after all!) and the other one was to use the words of a love song in your title and/or journalling. Of course I went with Bon Jovi... did you think I wouldn't?! LOL!

I have to admit the only other challenge I completed was one of Ambers, but I love it, one of my absolute favorite pictures of my little monkey.....

And here are a few others that I have completed in the last week or two just for fun!

I think today is going to be a scrappy day... I can't do laundry as my washing machine is on the fritz - ACKKKKK not good with 4 kids and 2 adults in the house. LOL!!! But I'm not going to complain about having more time to scrap today!!

My sweet little Brayden... From birth I have had concerns over his rapid heart rate and his obvious struggles with his breathing and the fact that he couldn't do more than a breath or two without grunting. The doctor dismissed it not once, not twice, but at least three times that I had gone in and asked him if it was normal and should be looked into.

Finally last week, after chatting to a few friends online and hearing their concerns, I took him in on Thursday to the other doctor, and asked him to listen to his heart and breathing. He decided to do an oxygen saturation test and his levels came back below 90 with no sign of cold or chest congestion. He then decided to do xrays and that xray showed the good possibility of an enlarged heart.

Friday, they called me and asked me to bring Brayden in for an EKG, which he was an angel for. These results along with the xrays, were sent down to the big city, which is 7 hours away. We spent the whole weekend worrying and wondering and trying to prepare ourselves for anything. It was a rough weekend... :(

Finally yesterday, I went in and talked to them about it to see what we were to do next. They said that the doctor in the city wanted Brayden to wear a Holter monitor for 24 hours, but they weren't positive they could do it here in our small town, they have never done one on an infant here before. However, we were reassured by the xray tech that travels in once/week that she could bring one in for him and we could do it here. So tomorrow afternoon, he will be having his placed on and hopefully he will be a good boy and leave all the wires alone for 24 hours. LOL!!!

After this, we don't know what will come next. I suppose it depends on the results and how the doctor in the city feels about it all put together. I just want answers, and I want to know what we are going to have to do with him... whether it be medicine, surgery, or by some miracle we get a clean bill of health report. In the end, it doesn't matter what they tell me, I just want answers, because the not knowing and the wondering is eating this momma alive.

So for anyone reading this, and believes in the power of prayer... or even just the power of positive thinking, we could use a lot of them in the next little while as we wait for results and deal with what may or may not lie ahead of us.

Brayden is such a happy, sweet, loveable little guy. He is still smiling, he is still showing us every day how amazing he is. I don't ever want that to change.

In March, I will be taking a fantastic road trip with Lori (head honcho of LIITD) and Lisa (fellow consipirator at LIITD) to Edmonton... As if that wasn't going to be fun enough as it is, we are going to Memories Wholesale Convention!!! Why am I excited? We're not going to be the only ones there. Mr. Tim Holtz will also be there!! SOOOO thrilled that she asked me to go with her!!! I can't wait to head on down south and pick up the girls and do some road tripping ;)

And there are only 15 spots left at the annual spring crop at LIITD held in Miami, MB. This years theme is LAS VEGAS, baby!!!! It's even inspired my boyfriend and I to look into a trip to Vegas in the fall ;) If you want to sign up for the crop, here is the info >>>>>>> RIGHT HERE!!!

Yup, I'm scrapping today! Ok, so I did it yesterday too.... scrappy weekend I guess?

A friend of mine gave me access to a bunch of professional pics she had taken of her little girl, Calyn. Calyn is a ball of fire, she is happy and funny and she is always on the go!! So I thought this title was especially fitting for her!!

I'm looking forwards to doing some more layouts with this cutie on them. Sometimes it's nice to do a few pages about OTHER things besides my own kids :)

The Prairie Woman

Prairie Woman. That's me! So the story behind this whole fiasco, is that Lori asked me if I liked to cook, I said I sure did... and so she told me that she wanted her and I both to put together a full meal, complete with recipes and photos and decorations and yada yada yada.

I should have slapped her upside the head before she even finished her sentence. But no, I said SURE! Sounds great! Let's do it!

Stupid, stupid me.

We looked at recipes, and decided that we would each do our own thing. I chose to channel the Pioneer Woman completely, using all her recipes. Pioneer... Prairie... they're close, right?

The menu that I finally settled on:

French Onion Stuffed Mushrooms

Fried Mozzarella Sticks

Whiskey Glazed Carrots

Restaurant Style Smashed Potatoes

Roasted Beef Tenderloin

Sounds good, right? So let's get to work and see what mess I made.....

First off, let's tackle the Fried Mozzarella Sticks!

Here are the yummy ingredients... and the Panko breadcrumbs are just as awesome as she describes on her original post. I was thrilled to see them actually on our little grocery store shelf.

Never thought it would be as easy as taking some cheesestrings out of the package!

Just wait until they are baked.... if you think THESE look good, just wait for it...

My kitchen has no calories. Just saying.

Yummmmy goooooey crunchhhhy goodness.

Wipe up the drool. We're moving on to the stuffed mushrooms.
I didn't even cry while cutting these suckers.... it was a nice change.

Mushrooms slightly cooked, and onions cooked to a caramel-goodness...

And the two shall meet, and things will never be the same.

Oh wait. Sorry, forgot this was a threesome.

I want to just pick these up with my fingers and throw them in my mouth.

I did.

Delicious appetizers... all ready to serve!!

Add some dipping sauce in the middle if you want... I myself just didn't think about it. ;p

And now for the smashed potatoes. I think these are some of the best potatoes I have ever had in my whole entire life. I changed it a bit from her recipe... as you can see by my ingredients here (that is, if you clicked on the links at the start of the post to even SEE the recipes)
The biggest difference, is that I used garlic butter instead of regular butter.

Best. Decision. Ever. Try it.

To cook the potatoes, I just pierced them and threw them in the microwave.

When they are soft, simply throw them in a bowl, mash them up and add all of the ingredients.

Throw some extra fried onions on top before serving... you will be happy you did.

This was one of my more riskier recipes. The Whiskey Glazed Carrots. I have never cooked with alcohol before. I mean, I drink it while cooking, but have never put it in my food. I think I'll be doing it more often. I'll drink it WHILE putting it in my food.

The carrots were chosen because of their color, I love how bright they are, they really spruce up any dish....

Here you see the butter, the whiskey, and the brown sugar coming together in holy matrimony.

And here come the carrots to spice it up a bit ;)

I can honestly say, no carrot will ever compare to this dish ever again...

And now... the absolute belle of the ball. Or the beast of the ball. Or something like that.

Beef Tenderloin.

Absolutely expensive, something I have never bought before.

I'm more of a ground hamburger type of girl....

suits my budget much better.

But this was about trying something different, so here goes nothing.

Cutting off ALL of the fat that I could was actually quite fun.

I pretended that I was in the O.R. with McSteamy....

I was still pretending I was with him when I was rubbing the beef down with the salt and seasoning.... I gotta be honest.

Ooooh this part was fun. Notice my fancy kitchen mallet. Courtesy of the garage.

Pounding those peppercorns was fun. Therapeutic.

Plus, it cleared my sinuses... definate bonus.

This sucker barely fit in my frying pan.

Remember I said that my kitchen has no calories? It still doesn't. I promise.
This butter went on before I threw this in the oven for 25 minutes....

Oooooh baby. Come to momma........ I don't normally love rare beef.

However, this was so amazingly melt in your mouth delicious, that I ignored the redness and just let my tastebuds do the walking AND the talking. mmmmmmm good.

This next picture was after I threw it back in the oven so that Darcy would eat it. He doesn't eat rare beef. He doesn't eat medium beef. I had to cook it some more. ;p

I used the Echo Park Wintertime paper pack to decorate my table all pretty like....

and these Melissa Francess Envelopes and Tags were perfect for having the 'menu' on the table.

Here's my little table setup. Buffet style, which in my family these days works a lot better, unfortunately... I know, a sit down meal with the family is what is best, but you do what you gotta do sometimes. LOL

For my centerpiece, I had found this spiky silver 'thing' at the store, put it on a vase with a candle in it, and made some 3-dimensional stars and tucked them in. I think it turned out kinda funky looking ;)

This 7 Gypsy tray served well as another decoration. I just decorated a few of the frames with papers and a few embellishments and then added a 'happy new year' sentiment with some shiny red alphas. It will be very easy to take this apart and re-do it for another occasion!

Voila! A meal fit for a King.

Or for a boyfriend, 3 fussy eaters, and a bottle fed baby.

I really hope that you enjoyed the journey into the life of a Pioneer Woman wanna-be.

I guess I AM the Prairie Woman.

Remember, any meal at home can be dressed up and made into a fun little occasion with just some paper, some ribbons, a few die cuts, etc. Let your mind wander....

but not too far or else you'll forget you have something in the oven.

Been getting more acquainted with my Tim Holtz blending tools and inks as well... worked so beautifully on these papers!!

How YOU doin'?

Well, it's a new year.... did you make any resolutions? I did. I wish I had a picture to put on here to show you what I am aiming for.... it's an old picture of me from when my oldest daughter was around 2 years old. I looked tiny... and I remember not feeling good about myself at THAT size, and here I am many sizes bigger now. Well, it's time. I've had a great first few days but I know that it's only going to get harder. I am hoping to scrap my way through it, doing a BOM to journal as I go, hopefully with many successes!!

I also need to devote a bit of time each and every week to my scrapbooking. I don't do nearly as much as I used to, and I miss it SO much. I know it will take a lot of work to fit it into my days, but I can do it. It will just take some organization and dedication. I'm stubborn. I can do it.

I wanted to have more patience with my kids too, but after tonight, I think I already failed. LOL!!! Work in progress, that's me. :)

Whatever you resolve to do in 2011, I hope it makes you happy and healthy, and that you never EVER take anything for granted. Life is a gift. Treat it well.....

Good morning! Just sitting at the scrap table and wanted to check in quick and show you what we've been up to at LIITD!!

Lori has been expanding the store a wee bit, trying out new things and allowing us to work with different stuff which has been awesome!!

First up she has this amazing new packaging available HERE I have a little bit of everything in my clutches now, and it is awesome, can't say enough about it and the prices are super reasonable! So last week the Creative Team all decorated up some of the WHITE COFFEE TIN TIE BAGS and the results were gorgeous... so creative, so unique! This is what mine turned out like, and you can find the rest of the CT's designs RIGHT HERE!!!

And just this past week we worked with some little tiny wooden houses... we each got 5 of them in slightly different sizes and were just asked to decorate them, no instructions given... just use our imagination!! I loved working with mine, and really am happy with the final products. Check out all of the HOUSES HERE

Aren't those just the CUTEST?!?! This is Braydens new bedroom... he is spending his first night in it TONIGHT!! It's not finished. Still needs ceiling tiles, and the floor needs painting, and baseboards... BUT he's still going in there tonight! :)

Less than one month until Christmas... are you ready??!! I am happy to say that I pretty much am, and this is the earliest I have EVER been finished shopping and wrapping! Sometimes, I surprise myself. ;p

So as a special little reveal today at LIITD, Lori sent us all some of these most awesome little coffee tin tie bags to decorate up all pretty.... I have already used a few of mine as gifts, but they sure were hard to part with! Definately a great idea for teachers gifts, or for your postal worker, doctor, etc.

Ho Ho Ho Everyone!! I am so excited to show you what I've been working on with my November picks from the LIITD store!! I chose My Mind's Eye HOLLY JOLLY paper pack, along with some Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology Ruffled Darlings ribbon, some Liquid Pearls in Ruby Red and Emerald Green, some Pink Paislee Pixie Stix Glitter in Green Apple, and a package of Prima Flowers Traditional Antique Mistletoes!! Everything is available at the LIITD store, so if you see something you like, then check it out here!!

This month I really stepped out of the box for ME. I didn't do ONE layout. Not one!! Can you believe it? LOL! Instead I looked around at what I already had to use, and found an old Fancy Pants chipboard box, some Maya Road chipboard, a paper mache house, and a 7Gypsy Tray that I was dying to use. And here is what I created with it all!

So what are you waiting for? Get a start on those Christmas presents and show someone just how much they mean to you by giving them a hand made gift this year!! :)

It is cold and winter is definately here, people... we don't have too much snow yet, but I am sure it is on it's way! I am hoping that being housebound for days on end this winter, with no job to go to, will result in some serious scrappy time. Gotta have SOMETHING good about the winter, right??

I started curling again. I haven't curled since before I had Makenna, so it's been 6 years since I last stepped on the ice. Although I was very sore after the first game and I pulled my groin during the first 2 rocks of our second game tonight, I am very happy to be back on the ice doing something I love to do. I'm not a professional, but I love it, and that's what matters! It's also a night out of the house, with my boyfriend, as I am curling on his team.

Have you started your Christmas shopping? Are you done? All wrapped? I am 90% finished shopping, but I haven't wrapped a thing yet. I am waiting for some new paper I ordered from the Grad fundraiser this year before I start ;) I hope the kids like their gifts, and everyone else too!!!

Nothing much else to report tonight, just wanted to pop in and say hello! Stay warm and safe on the roads for those in the snowy areas this weekend!! :)

for one extra hour in the day, right? So why do I detest Daylight Savings soooo much?! LOL! Well, I would MUCH rather it say 7am on my clock than 6am when Makenna wakes me up. The one morning she has let me sleep that late in over a week, and it has to be the morning that I put the clocks back. ;p

So how is everyone doing? Are you sharing in the beautiful November weather we've been having? This is unreal!! Normally we have some snow on the ground by now.... It HAS snowed, but hasn't stayed. I'm sure soon we will be hit, and hit hard to make up for it.

I am hosting Makenna's birthday party with her little friends this afternoon, and have decided to use the Birthday in a Box kit that I made last month.... and I made her a pitiful Princess Tiana cake... which she adores, so that's all that matters, right? Tomorrow is a dreaded trip to the dentist (2 hours away), and then Monday is Jackson's birthday party with his friends! After that is done, I can finally focus on CHRISTMAS!! It is creeping up faster and faster.... no idea what I'm getting for anyone, so shopping should prove to be interesting!!

It's Time to Celebrate!!

First off, I haven't been around much this month, as I was on a fan-ta-bulous trip to Disneyland with my mom, my 2 boys, my sister, and her daughter. We had so much fun... I have a bunch of pictures on Facebook and I'm sure you'll be seeing them in some layouts soon... in fact, a few are already on the layouts you'll see below! LOL! It didn't leave me much time to create with this month, but I hit the table hard with the few days that I had and I hope you like the results!

I have had my eye on this Teresa Collins CELEBRATE line since I first saw the CHA sneak peeks. It jumped out at me and I can't even tell you what one thing in particular caught my eye, because it ALL was just so great. Not too girly, not too boyish... somewhere in the middle and just SUPER CUTE! The colors are amazing, nice and rich and bold but yet still child-like.... So of course, I begged Lori to get it in for me, because I knew I wanted to use it for my October Picks Reveal!!

My first thought was to do up Makenna's birthday party with things made from the kit. But as I was making it, I thought to myself... what if I made a 'Birthday in a Box' that someone can buy to save themselves some time in planning their childrens party?! So I went to town and had a blast!

So.... this weekend is the annual fall crop in Miami, Manitoba... sponsored by Love is in the Details. Since we all can't make it down there for the festivities we have decided once again to hold an online crop to coincide with the occasion!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to say hello, and hope you are doing great! We're busy getting ready for the winter, I love and hate this time of year at the same time. I love the changing of the leaves, I love the cooler days (I'm a jeans and hoodie kind of girl!)... but I hate that winter is almost here. We have such bloody cold and long winters here up north... The one good thing is that I am not working this winter, so I don't have to be running outside as much! LOL!

Over at LIITD, today is Melissa's reveal day! WOOHOO! She worked with October Afternoon 'Fly a Kite' and it looks fabulous! Check it out HERE!!!

Today is also the very last day to have your layouts and projects uploaded for Lori's Surprise Online Crop! Midnight tonight is when you must have everything on the site by in order to be eligible for the prizes, and let me tell ya... the prizes as always, are awesome!!!! Pop over and take a peek!

September already... omg where is the year going to!??! My little man is already 4 months old, my kids are headed back to school on the 8th..... time is just flying.

I won't bother you with any small talk, though. What I'm here to show you, is my September reveal for Love is in the Details! We are still lucky enough to be choosing our own 'kits' to work with.... so this month, for Chelsea's Picks, I chose a bit from October Afternoon, and a bit from Pink Paislee.... gotta mix it up a bit sometimes ;) You can find a full product list on the LIITD BLOG, so if you see something you like, you best be checking it out asap before it's sold out!!

The surprise was on EVERYONE this morning at Love is in the Details.... LOL!

Another Year Older

Yup that's me! My birthday today... and I'm not going to tell you how old I am. LOL! It's funny how for so long I have felt the same age, which isn't an 'old' feeling, it's more of an 'I can't believe I'm already this age' feeling. I don't feel my age. At least I don't feel how I THOUGHT I should feel at this age, if that makes sense. When I was 18 and partying in the bar (yes, I did that from time to time... lol) I would look at all of the moms in there that were the age I am now, and think OMG are they ever old, what are they doing in the bar still?!?! And here I am, THAT old. Only I feel like I just graduated highschool yesterday. Far from it......
So anyways.... I'm having lunch out with my 'significant other' today while my mom watches all of the kids. And that's about it until tomorrow when we're having the whole family out to the campground for some ribs and corn on the cob and pickeral cheeks!
I've been getting some scrapping done, nothing I can share just yet... but check back on August 22nd for a little something from me :)

Who doesn't think of Friends when they hear this? LOL!! It's something I say to my littlest guy all the time, he seems to love raising his eyebrows, tilting his head, and smiling... and I can just see him trying to be Joey when he grows up! LOL!

Hope everyone is having a great summer! So far ours has been pretty good... lots of beach time for the kids, some camping time for all of us, a bit of travelling for a few of us.

Last weekend, my brother and sister and I all went to the Bon Jovi concert in Winnipeg at the stadium. OMG it was just awesome, and we were right there on the floor in the 2nd row, people.... I can't write enough about how good it was, from the moment Kid Rock took the stage until the final encore performance by my most favorite group EVER..... it was well worth the 7 hour trip there and 7 hour trip back. LOL! We also took in Despicable Me (****SO FUNNY****) and Eclipse (****yummmmmy****) but not nearly enough shopping. Guess I'll have to stick to the online shopping for now!

As for scrapping time, it's been at a bare minimum... but I am making myself use whatever spare time I have, to sit at the table and try to get some things done. Last night I whipped up a layout using one of my newest fave pictures of Brayden!

I hear him screaming now, so I better run.... we're off to the campground again! Take care, everyone!!!

Change is GOOD! Change means new ideas, and a lot of time it means a lot of fun! Around LIITD, things are changing a wee little bit in regards to the kits! Starting in July, the Creative Team will have some surprises in store for you.

The biggest part of this, is that LIITD and the CT will no longer be working with monthly kits on a regular basis. Now this doesn’t mean that the kits are gone for good, it just means that we will probably just be doing them more rarely, perhaps for special holidays like Christmas, etc.
The CT, however, will be working with products that they choose, products that you the members/customers request, and every now and then - products that I request. This month, to kick things off, the CT members were each given free run in the LIITD store and were allowed to choose some products they wanted to work with - to show off their personality and style. They were given no specific instructions, just pick, scrap, have fun and create.

Last Sunday you were treated to Lisa's picks for July, and she did an amazing job putting those vintage pieces to work!!

This week, it's my turn! I chose the Cosmo Cricket DeLovely line because they screamed summer colors to me!! I once loved only working with earth tones, but have really grown to love working with bright funky colors too!

Happy Canada Day!

Whether you celebrate July 1st here in Canada, or the 4th of July down in the good ol' USofA.... I hope you had/have a wonderful time with family and friends, good food, and if you are fortunate enough... some amazing fireworks!

Unfortunately, we haven't had rain, which meant no fireworks for Snow Lake. That was so disappointing, because our firemen do such an amazing job and put on quite the show for such a small town. However, I am sure we will get our fireworks show as soon as we are able to, because that's just how the firemen are. And I can't wait! :)

Aside from that, our Canada Day was awesome!!! We went to the pancake breakfast, then watched the parade and caught candy down at my Amma's with my family... After that we headed to the beach, and the kids played in the lake while we sat in the beer gardens for awhile. LOL! It started off sooo cloudy and muggy I was sure it was going to pour on us eventually, but the clouds ALL cleared off by 1pm and it was an absolutely gorgeous day!! I got quite the burn! LOL!

By 4pm we'd had enough of the heat at the beer gardens and rounded up all of our kids, relatives, friends, and went over to Amma's... she lives right on the lake, so we set up camp down there with our towels and blankets, drinks and snacks... 2 boats and a waverunner, a couple of tubes and waterskis.... what a friggin fantastic day. I can honestly say it was my best July 1st ever. A few of our friends were back home for a visit from their new home in Nevada so it was extra special to have them join us!!

We got home at 8pm and the kids were so burnt out and tired, they went to bed easily and I didn't make it past 10:30pm, which is super early for me.

Mommy Bragging Alert

I am completely in love with my baby boy. He started smiling about 2 weeks ago, and yesterday was the best... he woke up after an amazing 4 hour nap and would NOT stop smiling!! I grabbed the camera and propped him up on my glider and tried to snap a few shots. Of course with the delay it's hard to catch him in full smile, but I managed to grab a few....

He is such a good baby... almost 8 weeks old already.... :(

Time flies MUCH too fast. But, I can't wait to scrap these pics! LOL!

Camping without fire?

Yup, that's what we have to do right now! The forest is SO dry, there is really no rain in sight that will do much for soaking the ground (come on Southern Manitoba, send us your rain, we will GLADLY take it!!).... there are already forest fires burning throughout the province.

So last week they issued a ban on all outdoor fires, even in campgrounds. For that reason (and because there were lots of worms hanging from the trees right now LOL) we didn't go camping this past weekend... We do most of our cooking over the open fire, and that's what I love to do, is to sit around a gorgeous fire....

Instead we just headed out for the afternoon, brought the boat with us and did a little bit of tubing and cruising around to see the cabins along the lakeshore. What a great way to spend Fathers Day... as it was my boyfriends first real and true Fathers Day. :)

I managed to snap a very few pictures, and this one of my Makenna makes me smile. My kids love it at the campground, they are so free and relaxed... here she is chillaxin' in the hammock with her blanket, with a look of pure content on her beautiful face!

Here is a closeup of my butterflies... I sprayed them with some Maya Mist, the bottom one was carnation pink, but the top one was the one that blew me away... I believe it was charcoal... and I wasn't expecting the glittery shine that I got from it! Absolutely gorgeous!! I don't have a lot of these yet but they are on my 'want' list ;)

Summer Lovin'... Having me a blast!

School is still in session so it's not officially 'summer' yet, but we sure are enjoying some beautiful weather for once! I took the kids to the beach yesterday, and am hoping to get there today as well! I hope you are having some great rays of sun hitting your face too!!

Last weekend my sister and I (along with my little monkey Brayden and my oldest dd Tayla) went down to Miami, MB... home of Love is in the Details... for the annual spring crop! This year the theme was a cruise, and Lori and her cronies had every little detail planned to make you feel like you WERE heading some place tropical!! Her details are amazing, and I hope everyone that attended noticed them....

We arrived and were handed our boarding passes on a lanyard and a handmade itinerary... and we headed to our assigned 'cabin' where there was a tape runner waiting for us, as well as whatever goodies we MAY have ordered ahead of time ;) LOL!

There were 3 sketches that we could complete for a chance to win some fabulous prizes, as well as 2 different prize draws. What Lori does is give out little gift certificates to the LIITD store... and you could either use them at the store, or this year you had another option of putting them into the prize draws instead, and however much was in the pot at the end of the day, LIITD matched that amount and is donating that to the Childrens Wish Foundation ($250) and Breast Cancer Research ($300). Pretty remarkable, that's for sure. Kudos to you for doing this, it's a very great thing!!!

The meals were most excellent, I had taken little munchies and goodies to snack on throughout the day, but I didn't even open them there was so much food to eat!! Homemade lunch and supper, Timmies for breakfast... nothing beats that!! And heck, we even had cabana boys serving us drinks in the afternoon at snack time!!

I had so much fun visiting and scrapping. I haven't been able to do anything for ME scrapwise for 2 months now, if not more.... so it was awesome to sit and relax and get FIVE layouts done just for moi!! :) I'll leave you with what I got done at the crop.... and if you want to see pictures from the crop that Lori has up on the LIITD blog, please head HERE!!!!!!!

Braydon Jacob

April 29th, 2010

9lb 11oz, 21" long

Life has changed forever, yet again! Braydon made his way into this world via a scheduled c-section, surprising everyone with his size... I wasn't overly huge, after all... LOL! We came home from the hospital on May 1st, only to get a phone call the very next morning telling us we needed to go all the way back (2 hour trip) to the hospital due to an infection that showed up in Braydons bloodwork. We were there for 3 more days as he received antibiotics through an IV which was not pleasant for him or for me and daddy. At least I was able to stay right in the room with him again... but still, we were very very happy to come home after he was given the all clear. I sure missed my other babies while I was gone.....

The delivery/surgery for myself was routine (with a few complications I will admit), but I am having a harder recovery with this one than I had with my others... due to a lot of reasons, I think. So I am very glad that I decided to take a small leave of absence from my CT leader duties at LIITD. I am still on the team, on the forum, but as far as kit work goes, there is no way I could deal with deadlines right now. LOL!! Lori has been awesome as always, and I know I'll be back in the swing of things in no time, I can't wait to get scrapping again!!

Brayden is awesome, he is having a few troubles latching on properly but he is still eating well and is such a sweet, content little cutie pie. His sisters and his brother are all loving on him like mad, which is awesome to see.... much rather have that than jealousy!!

Anyhoo, I thought I better stop in here and leave an update... in case anyone still reads along! LOL!

Songs of Spring, the newest kit put together by Melanie Blackburn, was full of gorgeous, soft, spring colors with a fun splash of red... perfect combinations as always!! Pick it up FAST if you want to be sure you have it!!

I have totally been neglecting my blog, with no excuse other than I am tired and cranky and sore. LOL!!

Ok, let's see... what's new?

I'm finished work!

I only have 13 days until baby #4 is here!

I am loving being home with my kids!

I wish I could say I've been scrapping more since being done work but that just hasn't happened. We spent a whole week after I was done being sick, then spring break..... and I've been trying my best to get some big cleaning projects done and out of the way before I have no time on my hands. I'm very happy to say that most of them are DONE!!

Everything is ready for the little one to arrive, the kids are super excited, as are mommy and daddy :) Can't wait for it all to happen, not really the surgery part, that part I'll kinda ignore until that actual morning. LOL! Can't say I have ever been in this much pain before while pregnant so it's been pretty difficult the last month especially, and I'm very much looking forward to having my body back and feeling human again. April 29th is the big day, so you'll be seeing some new baby layouts soon enough! :)

I'll leave you this morning with just two layouts, like I said nothing much has been happening at the scrap table lately... but I have gotten a few things done. More to come Sunday ;)

In like a lamb.....

...... and hopefully OUT like a lamb too!! Wow, March is off to a very warm start... gotta love it :) I'm sure we'll still get one big major storm rolling through before all is said and done, but for now, I will enjoy seeing some snow melt away and be able to see cement on the road again! LOL!

The 2 week crop at LIITD is officially OVER and WOW.... the mojo flowing through that place the last 2 weeks has been absolutely amazing! Thanks to everyone for participating, and thank you to my fellow Creative Team members for putting up some super fun challenges and games... you girls are AWESOME!!!! And thanks to LORI for her fantastic prizes, as always they are top notch, and I hope all of the winners are very happy with them....

I have to say I didn't get a WHOLE lot of layouts done in the last 2 weeks.... but I did get a few. :)

I only have 3 weeks left of work before I have my 2 weeks of holidays and then my official maternity leave!! So I will have a few weeks to myself in which I hope to get lots of scrapping done, and some rearranging in my scrappy area in preparations for the newest little bambino that will be featured on my layouts!!! YAY!!!

Michelle Duggar I am NOT. LOL! I do NOT know how she has been pregnant as many times as she has and not gone completely insane. I am almost there... mostly from being run down tired. This is my 4th and final addition to the family... In 4 weeks, I will be finished work, and I can't wait. Work isn't overly crazy busy, but it's still work, and some days I'm on my feet for hours at a time. My youngest daughter has NEVER slept well, she still gets up in the middle of the night a good 90% of the time, and is up for the day anywhere from 5:30-6:30am. So 9 weeks from now, I will probably have 2 kids keeping me up all night. Am I looking forward to it? You bet I am. :) Every day behind me is a day closer to holding this little bundle of joy. We don't know if it's a boy or a girl, and honestly I don't give a darn! Just give me a healthy baby that is happy and hopefully will sleep 'ok' and I will be over the moon thrilled. I love being a mommy... there is nothing in this world I wouldn't do for my kids. They know it. Spoiled? Sure, maybe a bit. But, they know they are loved.... :)

Anyhoo, this was supposed to be an apology for not blogging more often lately... I've been so tired it's unreal. Hopefully I'll get a spurt of energy in the next few weeks so that I can get this house in order and get everything ready that still needs doing! And some scrapping, which has been lacking... sigh....

Well, it's finally Saturday! After a very slow week at work we finished it off with a bang yesterday and I was so tired last night I didn't do anything but sit on the couch and then go to bed. LOL! Today, we really don't have anything planned! Hitting the scrap table is a MUST, though, so hopefully I'll have some new stuff to show you by tomorrow :)

Well, I'm hoping it will be a scrappy Sunday as well... but I won't get too far ahead of myself. LOL! These 2 layouts weren't done this morning, although I DID have time what with being awoken at 4:30am by a child that wouldn't go back to sleep.

This first one was for Ambers January Recipe Challenge at LIITD, I used one of the only pics I took of my cousins little guy this Christmas before my memory card busted! There are challenges each and every month for you to play around with. And something we've started this year, is having a Monthly Mystery Prize.... you never know which CT Challenge is going to be the one we pick our prize winner from, so the more you complete, the better the chances of winning!!! HERE is a list of our challenges for January, you still have one full week left!!

This second one was done with October Afternoons Nightlight line, which I absolutely loved once I saw it in real life and wished I had bought MORE of it!! This is my sisters little guy Addison, probably around a week old... back in 2006.

I am so excited to tell y'all that LIITD has sold out of the last few months of kits that MelB has put together!! Wow... so amazing to see them take off that way, so thank you all!!!! It's just going to keep getting better and better, so keep your eyes open, and your adhesive always handy ;)

I am so excited, because it's halfway through January... which also means we only have a few more weeks until February. What is so special about that? Wellll if you have been peeking around Love is in the Details in the past, you will know that February is the month of LOVE and is NOT taken very lightly around the forum!!

There are all kinds of things planned, and while most of them will remain under wraps for the time being, I CAN tell you all about one thing!! It's probably the best part about the whole month.... and this year we're making it better than ever!!

We've gone past Christmas, right on to the next holiday.... and the season of love and hugs and everything sweet.... we're on Cloud Nine for the month of January!! Our January kit at Love is in the Details is full of pretty pinks and reds, and some blues and browns.... featuring Pink Paislee's awesome Cupid collection, I think I love the 'Bullseye' paper the best.... and some Bo Bunny's Love Bandit collection. Melanie has tagged me!! Along with our store/forum owner Lori, and my fellow CT members Amber, Lisa, Melissa, and Cindy!! She is challenging us to blog about our most favorite projects from 2009. Well.... I've been searching through my gallery and it's so hard choosing! I have an attachment of some kind or another to everything, for different reasons.... So, I shall do my best to show you the ones that I love the best :)

This first one, I did just recently for fun.... I am falling more in love with Jillibean Soup the more I use it, and tried to use pretty much as much as I could on it, and I just love the earthy natural turn it took. One of my all time faves for sure.

These 2 just above, were created with our recent December Kit 'Chance of Flurries' at LIITD. I must say, one of my favorite kits EVER.... and I was able to create some fun layouts that I was very happy with. The colors, the papers, it was all just so awesome....

This layout of my son Jackson, is just one of my favorites from this year because of the fact that he RARELY lets me take his picture without a silly face, or without him trying to moon me, as the case may be these days. LOL! He's growing up so fast, but in a lot of ways he's still just my little man. I can't wait to see the man that he will become... and I'm doing my best to make sure that he has a lot of qualities that will attract a really nice girl. LOL!

The mailbox. I ended up sending this to Lori as a Christmas gift, I knew from the moment I started it that it was for her. Sometimes you just KNOW when something is meant for someone, and this was meant for her. I knew she would appreciate it and cherish it. :) This was also created with the December Chance of Flurries kit.

I had to include this one, from the March 2009 kit at LIITD. My daughter Tayla, free as can be, and loving life. This layout shows her true personality, which is all about having fun and letting loose, even if it means being a little bit silly. She's my 'tween' and it's becoming difficult finding that fun in our relationship more and more, but I know it's still there, and we just have to try harder to bring it out.

Thanks, Mel, for tagging me and making me cruise through the past year... it was fun!! I love seeing what the other gals chose as well!!! Looking forward to the next year with a really awesome group of ladies!!

I'm working right up until closing time on Christmas Eve, but then I get to enjoy 4 whole days off with my family!! I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and all of the best in 2010!! This past year has been a year of changes for my family, and next year will prove to be no different, but I'm looking forward to it!!!

I think I might have to designate Sundays from now on as my scrappy days, NO MATTER WHAT! :)

It's been a LONG week.... My son was in the hospital here in town overnight, and then we were taken out by ambulance 2 hours away in a hurry the next morning... and stayed at that hospital overnight as well. He is well on the mend, his chest infection is almost gone and we just have to get rid of the rest of his pesky cough! The weather isn't helping, so hopefully that nasty wind will die down soon. It was almost

-50 degrees Celcius overnight, ridiculous!!

We also went for our ultrasound on Thursday! It was so awesome, even after having 3 kids already, they never get old... they are always amazing! And luckily there is just ONE bambino in there ;) Growing well and right on schedule, in fact I am now halfway there!

So today I am being somewhat lazy, after cleaning big time in the basement yesterday. My body wasn't liking what I did yesterday, so today is about relaxing... and what better way to relax than to attack a challenge from Love is in the Details!

Lazy Sunday Morning?

Well, I hope you are all sitting down with your morning cup of java (or diet pepsi... I don't judge, I AM one of you...), because it is reveal day at LOVE IS IN THE DETAILS! Truly amazing, what a great group I am honored to be 'working' with. More like having fun with, I don't consider it work. LOL! Behind the scenes, I have never been more comfortable and happy with a group of girls in my life, it's a great support system and I am SO very lucky!!

The December Kit at LIITD is called 'Chance of Flurries' and believe me, with flurries like these, you will WANT them in your house! Pinks, lime greens, reds.... it has my favorite colors for Christmas papers and it is SOOO much fun. The papers are all from a line called JOYRIDE from Collage Press, which from what I understand wasn't easy to get in, so THANK YOU Mel and Lori for fighting!! Well worth it, believe me. :) The embellishments are all so fitting, and so easy to use. I strongly encourage you to pick up the extras that are available as well... The December Chance of Flurries kit is full of gorgeous papers from the Joyride collection from Collage Press, I know it was not easy to get this line in, but THANK YOU to Melanie and Lori for fighting for it, because it has been SO much fun working with it! I love Christmas papers in the pinks/greens/reds.... absolutely love them!!! The embellishments are once again top notch and match PERFECTLY with the papers. I can't wait to show you the rest of the kit and the things we have all been creating with it. It will most definately put you in the Christmas spirit!!!!

The actual kit and reveal will be available for purchase - Sunday, December 6 - on the shopping page.

Here is my little addition to the blog hop!!

I have had an old distressed frame for the last few years and have never known what to do with it.... so I pulled it out as soon as I saw this kit and put it to use!

I painted it with the ~broken china~ Distress Crackle paint which will be available in addition to the kit, and then used various papers from the kit to put in the windows and around the edges of each frame. I decided to give my fingers a workout and cut into some of the cute patterned papers to get the skiers and trees and airplane, then pop dotted them to give it some dimension. I finished it off with some American Crafts Thickers, and some Maya Road ribbon (my FAVORITE new ribbon, btw... found in the LIITD store)

Just kidding... I know I'm a slacker. LOL! Life has been overwhelming lately, with a lot of changes... but I think they are more or less under control now ;)

I have a whole new floor throughout my house that I think looks FAB-U-LOUS. My bf and his friend did a phenomenal job and cranked it out in less than 2 days of work!!!

I am now around 17 weeks pregnant, and feeling much better... no more 24 hour hangover feeling for this chicka..... just tired as heck but I think I've felt this way for the last 10+ years ;)

My bf now lives with us, and that has been an adjustment that I think will continue for awhile... after 4 years on my own with just the kiddos and me, it's very hard to share your home with someone else, let me tell you! But things are going ok and I'm sure in time, I will forget all about the adjustment period. LOL!

I have vowed to put scrapping back at the top of my priority list. Now that I have someone here to help me with the house cleaning, and all of the little things that were starting to take up more and more of my 'free time', it's going to be a lot better to get my creative juices flowing..... and I can't wait! Scrapping is my biggest passion (aside from the kids of course) and I can't wait to see what my itchy little hands come up with in the coming year!!

So there is a little sneak peek of the December kit at Love is in the Details floating around... and I think I'll post it here for you to see too!! Melanie did such a great job (as per usual!) putting this gem together, and I know you will love it too.... It's November 1st, and as much as I don't want it to be November, it's an exciting day because it's our monthly kit reveal on Love is in the Details! I believe it's my favorite day of each month. :) The reveal this month is awesome, truly awesome!! The kit is chock full of gorgeous papers, embellishments, all mixed and matched perfectly!

I was the last one to bed last night, and the first one up this morning with Makenna.... and since it seems that nobody wants to do anything just yet, I'm sitting at the scrappy table staring at my November kit from LIITD and trying not to drool on my keyboard ;) I can't wait to show everyone!!!

So I am getting new flooring in my house! The entire upstairs is going to be redone with laminate, it got here last night courtesy of my bf's truck from the city.... I can't say I completely love it just yet, but hopefully once it's down and all done, I will :) I just can't wait to replace my kitchen floor most of all, because it's seriously nasty. LOL!

We're gearing up for winter too... it's been fairly cool here the last few weeks, and we did see the white stuff one day but there's nothing on the ground right now. I'm hoping it holds off until after the kids are done their trick or treating on Halloween!! Tayla is being a witch, Jackson is being a storm trooper, and Makenna is being Sleeping Beauty... I can't wait to see them all dressed up!

I'm almost done my first trimester with my 4th baby on the way.... and I am hoping that once I hit the second one, I will start feeling much better. I have been feeling absolutely horrible since pretty much the day I found out, it's like a non-stop hangover 24/7 where you just don't want to move for fear of getting sick. LOL!! Hopefully I will hear the heartbeat at my appointment next week and I can finally get really excited, because for me, I have to hear that for it to fully hit me and to really start getting excited about the whole thing!!

But I suppose I should get on these chores so that I can sit and play with my scrappy stuff later on today, I can't wait to dig in!!!! Have a great weekend everyone!

It's October, people! I can't believe it, where is 2009 going?!?! Well, the 1st of the month is reveal day... but I have to say, I'm not in on it! LOL!
